A supplier of refractory products, systems and solutions has chosen Midtown Tampa for its North American headquarters.

RHI Magnesita, which announced that Tampa would be home to its North American headquarters in August 2022, has leased a suite in Midtown West, the Midtown office tower home to Kforce Inc. and REI Co-op. Midtown West is owned by a partnership of Bromley Cos., the New York-based master developer of Midtown, and Highwoods Properties Inc., one of Tampa Bay’s largest office landlords.

The company’s North American headquarters is 3,768 square feet, according to Tampa building records.

Refractory materials are those that can withstand extreme heat in manufacturing.

“We are excited to officially open our North American headquarters in Tampa. The market in the mid-Atlantic and southeastern United States has grown tremendously, so opening a corporate office in the area will allow RHI Magnesita to further advance our key initiatives, expand our team with diverse top talent, and best serve the fluid needs of our customers,” Craig Powell, RHI Magnesita’s regional president, North America, said in a statement.

RHI Magnesita previously said its Tampa office would have a head count of 15 to 20 people. The office will be occupied by a “flexible mixture of in-office and traveling employees,” the company said.

RHI Magnesita’s other regional offices are in India, China, the Netherlands and Brazil. Its international headquarters is in Vienna, Austria, and it has a global head count of 13,000 employees.

“RHI Magnesita will utilize the North American headquarters as a space for strategic collaboration to advance our existing business goals, fuel our growth and allow us to make positive changes globally,” Powell said in a statement. “We are excited to be a part of the Tampa community, which offers our employees a wonderful place to live, work and play, and look forward to connecting with new talent in the area.”
