Primo Water Corp. will move its global headquarters from an office building near International Plaza to Midtown Tampa.
Highwoods Properties Inc., which developed the eight-story office building Midtown West in a partnership with Midtown master developer Bromley Cos., said Monday that Primo will lease 44,000 square feet — the top two floors — in Midtown West.
Around 125 employees will work from the Midtown headquarters, according to Highwoods.
Midtown is a 22-acre, 1.8-million-square-foot mixed-use district at the interchange of Interstate 275 and North Dale Mabry Highway. It includes two office buildings, Midtown West and the Loft at Midtown, as well as apartments, a dual-flag hotel, and retailers and restaurants.
Todd Brandon and Samantha Kaye from Cushman & Wakefield Inc. represented Primo in the lease transaction. It’s an expansion for Primo, which previously occupied 15,000 square feet in Corporate Center III, just under 2 miles from Midtown.
Cott Corp. became known as Primo (NYSE: PRMW) in 2020 after acquiring Primo.
Primo is the second Tampa company to move its headquarters to Midtown. Kforce Inc. leased 30,000 square feet in Midtown West after selling its Ybor City headquarters to a group of local investors. South State Bank’s regional headquarters lease was the first office tenant to commit to Midtown West while the building was still under construction.
“Midtown’s vibrant mix of uses within a walkable urban fabric creates a talent magnet for customers that provides ample opportunities for their employees to create, collaborate and innovate,” Dan Woodward, Highwoods senior vice president and Tampa market leader, said in a statement, “and we’re excited to welcome a distinguished company like Primo as a customer.”
