Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. headed to Midtown Tampa

The cafe will overlook Midtown Tampa’s common green space and will be a “flagship” location for the company, which has been headquartered in Tampa since 1984.

TAMPA — Tampa-based Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. will open what it describes as a flagship cafe at the $550 million Midtown Tampa project, developers with the Bromley Companies said Monday.

“As the largest artisan coffee roaster in the Southeast, Joffrey’s joins the collection of best-in-class retailers we’ve curated for one-of-a-kind experiences like none other in the region,” Bromley chief executive officer Nicholas Haines said in an announcement.

Bromley said the 1.8 million-square-foot, mixed-use project, now under construction near Dale Mabry Highway and Interstate 275, is 75 percent leased and on schedule to open in early 2021. Midtown Tampa’s other retailers and restaurants include Tampa Bay’s first REI Co-op, its largest Whole Foods Market, the Oprah Winfrey-backed True Food Kitchen and a new restaurant by bay area chef Chris Ponte.

Joffrey’s 1,500-square-foot cafe will be located near the Midtown Commons, the development’s central green space, and will be open days and evenings with wide range of coffee and tea, plus breakfast items, pastries, and wine and beer, including a locally brewed coffee made with Joffrey’s coffee. Patrons will be able to choose their own latte art created by a Ripple machine from pre-selected images, selfies, and uploaded designs.

“Joffrey’s is thrilled to be opening our flagship location in the Midtown development,” Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea president and chief executive officer Ted Abrams said. “We’ve been part of the Tampa Bay community for more than 35 years and are proud to call it home.”
